Peanut Butter Doggie Biscuits

I was inspired to create this recipe because of my golden retriever, Sophie. She is quite heavily pregnant at the moment( due on 17th August) so she is absolutely ravenous all the time. She ends up just staring at me and drooling all over the floor most of the time, so to fill up her tummy and provide a bit of a treat for her little puppies I made these. She absolutely loved them. My other dog, a bichon frise x shih tzu called Tayto, unfortunately also loved them. He is currently on a diet so I could only give him a little taste. I think he liked them too because he kept licking his lips for about an hour afterwards. They are really easy to make and would be a fun activity to do with kids as well.

Peanut Butter Doggie Biscuits

340g plain flour

340g wholemeal flour

30g dark brown sugar

1/2 tsp salt

3 eggs, beaten

225g peanut butter, softened (preferably natural)

80ml sunflower oil

235ml water

  • Preheat the oven to 190ºc/375ºf and line a few baking trays with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mix the two flours, brown sugar and salt together.
  • Mix in the eggs and peanut butter until incorporated.
  • Stir in the oil and enough of the water to form a nice silky, stretchy dough.
  • Set aside and let rest for 10-15mins.
  • Roll out to about 1/2 inch thick and cut into shapes.I used a bone shape.
  • Bake in the oven for 40mins then cool and let your doggies enjoy!
