Rustic Garlic Steak

12 Nov

This is such a yummy dinner, it is so simple and can be done way in advance and then left to marinate in the fridge until ready. I love serving this with spicy wedges or crispy baked potatoes but you could just as easily pop it in a fresh panini for an epic sandwich! I would advise that you get the best quality steak possible, preferably from a trustworthy butcher because it doesn’t matter how good your marinade is if you have a tough steak. It will ruin it!

Rustic Garlic Steak (Serves 2)

2 cloves of garlic, minced

3tbsp olive oil

3-4tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 generous tsp Dijon mustard

salt and pepper

2 lean striploin steaks

  • In a small bowl, mix together the garlic, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce and Dijon mustard.
  • Place the 2 steaks in an oven proof dish and pour over the marinade. Season with salt and pepper to your taste.
  • Heat a griddle pan over a high heat and add the steaks. Cook for 2mins on each side to seal them then turn the heat down to medium and then cook to your liking.
  • Serve immediately with baked potatoes and a crisp salad.
