This is the perfect snack to kill those mid morning or it’s not quite dinner time yet hunger pangs. These are super healthy for you and I swear they taste just like apple pie. Who could ask for more? Not me! They are really easy to make, the hardest thing is getting the slices thin enough and if you have a slice attachment, there is no problem at all. These are also great because they would be a great replacement to all those unhealthy snacks or would be great to bring to the cinema.

Cinnamon Apple Crisps

2 apples, of your choice (I used granny smith and braeburn)

cinnamon

  • Preheat the oven to 120ºc/250ºf and grease and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Core and slice your apples very thinly. You should really use a slicing attachment of a food processor or something that will slice as thinly. I had to cut mine by hand so they are a bit thicker the they should be. Thin ones will crisp up as they cool and thicker ones will stay soft.
  • Lay the apple slices out on the tray in an even layer and sprinkle generously with cinnamon.
  • Bake for 20mins then turn them and sprinkle again with cinnamon and bake for a further 20-30mins. Keep a close eye on them in the last 10mins so they don’t burn.
  • Let them cool completely then you can store them in an airtight container.

Variation: When sprinkling the apple slices with cinnamon you can also sprinkle with a bit of dark brown sugar to give a lovely, sticky, caramelised coating.
