Cheesy Overload Dog Biscuits

13 Nov

I forgot to tell you guys that we decided to keep a puppy out of Sophie’s litter, his name is Boots and I wanted to show him what it’s like to get homemade treats, so I whipped up a batch of these. My dogs love cheese for some reason so this is perfect for them. The biscuits are super easy to make and you can even leave out the cheesy filling if you want. As for taste, these biscuits are totally incredible. I have been resisting the temptation to gobble them all up myself ever since they came out of the oven! They really are that good. I would actually say you could probably use them as party food with a few dips. The quantities here are actually only half the original recipe because I didn’t want to   go overboard on the treats but feel free to double the recipe up again to make the full batch. Also these keep for up to two weeks in an airtight container or you can freeze them, raw or baked for up to six months. My dogs devoured them and they have been giving my the puppy dog eyes ever since! I hope your dog loves them too. 😀

  • Transfer the biscuits to the prepared tray and bake in the oven for 15-18mins until golden and crisp.
  • To make the filling beat together the cream cheese and peanut butter until smooth and creamy, then spread on one side of a biscuit and sandwich it together with another biscuit.

Peanut Butter Doggie Biscuits

2 Aug

I was inspired to create this recipe because of my golden retriever, Sophie. She is quite heavily pregnant at the moment( due on 17th August) so she is absolutely ravenous all the time. She ends up just staring at me and drooling all over the floor most of the time, so to fill up her tummy and provide a bit of a treat for her little puppies I made these. She absolutely loved them. My other dog, a bichon frise x shih tzu called Tayto, unfortunately also loved them. He is currently on a diet so I could only give him a little taste. I think he liked them too because he kept licking his lips for about an hour afterwards. They are really easy to make and would be a fun activity to do with kids as well.

Peanut Butter Doggie Biscuits

340g wholemeal flour

  • Mix in the eggs and peanut butter until incorporated.
  • Stir in the oil and enough of the water to form a nice silky, stretchy dough.
